Girls on the Run is more than a running program, it is a philosophy – a way of being. Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program for girls in third through eighth grades that uses the power of running to teach every girl about her personal power and the importance of being healthy and active.  Our curriculum combines training to participate in a running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts and a community service project.

  • Our programs are led by certified, volunteer Girls on the Run coaches at approved sites throughout Anne Arundel and Calvert County.
  • We have two seasons each year. The fall season begins in September and concludes in December. The spring season begins in March and concludes in May. Programs meet for 90 minutes, twice per week for 10 weeks.
  • We have two programs – Girls on the Run for girls in 3rd through 5th grade and Girls on Track for girls in 6th through 8th grade.

Our programs instill self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training – all through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, and the community.
