The Outreach Team

The Outreach Team works hand in hand with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to build comprehensive council-wide community collaborations and build an organization that has a proven, positive community impact.

Volunteers interested in this team will:

  • Have experience in marketing, outreach or communications
  • Attend monthly meetings and events
  • Have a desire to build relationships with community organizations
  • Know the community and its strengths and how these would support the Girls on the Run mission.

The Development Team

Together with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Development Team is charged with implementing successful fund-raising through highly visible events, building economic sustainability and finding strategic, diverse financial support for the organization.

Volunteers interested in serving on this team will:

  • Be interested in planning and organizing fundraising events
  • Attend monthly meetings and events
  • Solicit donations, market Girls on the Run and personally network
  • Have the ability to follow-through on short-term and long term projects
  • Be an innovative thinker!! Marketing and sales skills are a plus
  • Have the ability and desire to research sources of funds and communicate convincingly the value of Girls on the Run

Race Committee

The New Balance Girls on the Run 5K is the official 5K series of Girls on the Run International. If you are interested in being on the committee that does all the planning and prep work leading up to race day, this is the spot for you.

SoleMates Support Team

The SoleMates Support Team works with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to recruit athletes for the SoleMates program, organizes team events and training opportunities and provides support to SoleMates athletes at local events.

Volunteers interested in this team will:

  • Have a desire to recruit athletes for our charity running program
  • Be interested in participating in training activities or organizing social event
  • Attend regular meetings
  • Provide race-day support for local events such as the Baltimore Marathon, Annapolis Ten-Miler and Marine Corps Marathon.
